The World of Dust

The World of Dust is the solo project of musician and collage artist Stefan Breuer, based in Bilthoven (a small village near Utrecht, The Netherlands). The World of Dust offers a refuge of serenity to escape this complex world. In his dreamy universe of experimental folk songs and DIY collage art you will find your thoughts calming down.

The World of Dust released five albums so far, with each album exploring a different approach in production and composition methods. From the indie-prog of debut Bhava (2013) and the electronic one-minute songs on X (2014), to the acoustic miniatures of Womb Realm (2015) and the lo-fi weirdness that made up Golden Moon (2017). n Samsara (2019), all the music was written and recorded by Todd Tobias, known for his work with Guided By Voices and Robert Pollard. A split 7″ with Karl Blau called Blue Herons (with the song The Life of Gods) was released in 2020.

On New album True Sound (out October 8th, 2021 on Tiny Room Records) is another collaboration with Todd Tobias. This concept album charts a very personal exploration of the life and death of Stefan Breuer’s grandparents.

The World of Dust has shared the stage with likeminded artists such as Karl Blau, Calvin Johnson, I am Oak and Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), and toured extensively since 2014, performing in The Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany and Japan.

Stefan also plays in other bands (Combo Qazam, Howart, Oliver Oat, Sven Agaath, Lost Bear, ex-I am Oak), organizes shows, has his own label (Tiny Room Records), produces indie bands, composes for film, and is a proud member of the Dutch underground music scene.
